My name is Karen Mistlin – Counsellor and Cognitive Hypnotherapist.
I hope the information offered on this site answers what you need to know about the therapy I offer and how it may help you. When working with clients my hope is to help and encourage a happier and more peaceful state of mind, to be able to embrace and enjoy life as much as possible. Also to enable a person to connect and acknowledge the potential they have and to become the person they want to be despite past experiences.
My practice is called SPACE2Be because it is rare these days to to find time to just BE we are all so pre-occupied with DOING. I offer my clients a place to give time to themselves amidst the busy and demanding lives they lead.
Life can be very challenging, and at certain times situations from the past or present can seem overwhelming to cope with. It maybe that a current situation is causing you stress or anxiety or perhaps you have been silently struggling with a past issue that is now holding you back from moving forward in your life.
Asking for help and recognising this need is sometimes hard to admit to oneself. It need not be daunting. Taking the first step to seek counselling is a positive decision towards self care and increased self awareness. I am sensitive and understanding of how difficult it is sometimes to make that first initial contact.
What Can I offer?
I offer confidential therapy, in the following areas:

How to start counselling?
Throughout the initial call or email we can have a brief chat and I can answer any questions you may have. If you decide you would like to meet we can arrange a session. If you choose to come for counselling we will agree a time and frequency of sessions. Generally people come at the same time every week. If you need flexibility this can be arranged. I offer long or short-term therapy with appointments available throughout the daytime and evenings.
Where Am I?
My practice is based in Rickmansworth Hertfordshire, close to the the main line station (Metropolitan Line). Off street parking is available.
Session Fees:
£50 -Individual 60 mins
£35 – Student Counsellors - Volunteers – Low income clients
I am a Service Provider for WPA, Cigna and Pru Health
